With OutGrown, you can shop the homes of other local parents who have a house full of items that are perfect for the stage your children are currently in.

Oh, and do it all while browsing on your smart phone!

Snap a picture of what you want to sell

OutGrown makes it super simple to list items. You simply take a picture of the kids item(s) you wish to sell. Add a title and description. Enter the price, and voila... Your item is now listed to the entire OutGrown marketplace of parents who are looking for exactly what you're selling.

Sell with OutGrown

After you list your item, you'll automatically be able to accept payments via credit card. When someone purchases your item, the money is deposited directly into your OutGrown account, which you'll be able to withdrawal directly to your bank account at any time. And not only that, but there is no shipping involved!

That's right, you don't have to package up your item, drive to the post office, stand in a busy line with your kids, just to get rid of items your kids no longer use. After you sell your item, the buyer simply picks it up from your front porch at the day/time that you agree upon. It's really that simple!

We understand that safety and trust are important to you. You are fully protected every time you place an order on OutGrown. We collect the payment(s) on the seller's behalf. How do I sell on OutGrown?

First, you must download the mobile app. You can do that here: www.outgrown.com/sell.php

To create a listing from the mobile app,…

  • Click on the "Sell" button (the camera icon) in the bottom navigation within the app.
  • Take photos of the item you want to sell. The more photos of the item, the better. This will allow your potential buyer to get a good feel for the item.
  • Fill in the required information (category, description, size, price).
  • List the Item! That’s it. :)

Can I make money telling my friends about OutGrown?

YES! For every friend that you refer, you'll receive 50% of the commission that we receive for ALL SALES that YOUR FRIENDS make! Simply tell them to install OutGrown. When they install it, they will be asked to enter the Name of their friend who referred them. When they enter your name, every single sale that your friend makes, you will make money too!

Example: You tell just 5 people to install the Free OutGrown app. If each of those 5 people sells 10 things at $20 each, you will make a quick $100 that you can use to buy items on OutGrown for your kids or withdraw as cash into your pocket. :)

 

How can I sell more items and sell them faster?

Our Top Sellers follow these general tips:

  • Make the 1st picture you take, the best one. This will be your Covershot that appears within the feed and shop listings.
  • Use great lighting when taking pictures! Buyers want to clearly see the item.
  • Include multiple photos of your item. If there is any damage or stains, be sure to clearly show that
  • Write a quality description for your listing by including things like the color, condition, size, age, and anything else that will help the buyer make their decision to purchase from you.
  • BIG TIP: Share your listings with your friends and followers on Facebook easily from within the app. Spread the word locally with your friends and followers.

What are the fees for selling on OutGrown?

We at OutGrown love simplicity. We want to make the buying and selling process as quick and painless as possible, which is why…

  • We created a community where you can buy and sell goods in a matter of a couple clicks.
  • We handle the credit card fees for you so you don’t need to set up your own online store, site, or even mess with cash. Sell your goods on OutGrown and we’ll send you the money.
  • We allow you to communicate directly with others in our community about purchases.
  • We provide the end-to-end platform for you to sell all of the items your kids have outgrown.

Our fees are very stragithforward, minimal, and simple for you as a Seller. For all sales, you keep 80% of your sale and OutGrown’s commission is 20%. Once the sale has been made, you as a Seller have a 14-day grace period to make sure the Buyer receives the item. If the buyer has not received the item within 14 days, the funds will be removed from “Pending Funds” in the Seller’s account. After the 14-day grace period on a successful transaction with the buyer, the funds will go from “Pending” status to “Redeemable”. You can spend your earnings within the app on other items for your kids, or withdraw your money as cash whenever you like.

What can I sell on OutGrown?

You can sell just about anything that can be used for your kids, future kids, maternity… you name it. OutGrown is a marketplace for anything “kid” related. Please refrain from listing items that do not fall into this category. Such listings clutter the marketplace and make shopping more difficult and less enjoyable for others in the community.

All pre-owned items listed on OutGrown should be clean and in good condition. If there are any damages, stains, or visible wear to an item, you must clearly present that in your listing.

Members who continually list items that aren’t related to the type of community that we’re trying to build at OutGrown run the risk of getting their accounts suspended.

If we feel that your listing violates our guidelines in any way, we reserve the right to remove it and may take other actions, including restricting your future buying and selling privileges on OutGrown.

I just made a sale! Now what?

First off, Congrats on your sale!!! That’s super exciting.

When your item sells, we automatically send you a notification that your item was sold. This will come as an email, as well as a notification within the mobile app. It’s important that you Turn ON Push Notifications on your mobile device so that we can notify you immediately so that you can start communicating with the Buyer about a pickup time and location.

NOTE: It is fully your responsibility as the Seller to coordinate a pickup time and location in order to receive the funds from the sale.

When a Buyer purchases an item, they will be able to set a preference for Date and Time of pickup. You will be notified of this date and time. From there, you can communicate directly with the Buyer within the messaging system inside of OutGrown.

There is currently a 14-day grace period to allow the Buyer/Seller to coordinate a pickup time and location. To protect the Buyer, OutGrown reserves the right to automatically cancel any order that has not been received by the Buyer and the funds will be removed from the Seller’s OutGrown account.

How do I get paid?

After the buyer receives the item during the 14-day grace period following a sale, we will release the money from “Pending” to “Redeemable”, in which case you can then use the money to buy other items in the OutGrown marketplace or withdraw your money via a direct deposit to your bacnk account.

How do I withdraw my money?

To set up your direct deposit bank account details, open OutGrown on your mobile device. Navigate to your Piggy Bank. Here you will see Withdraw – click on that. On the Withdraw screen, you can add or edit your bank details.

What is OutGrown's Return Policy?

All sales are final on OutGrown. However, we take an active role in each and every purchase made on OutGrown to ensure both the buyer and seller have a great experience. A buyer may open a case with us if they don't receive their item or the item they receive is not as described within the listing. This means a buyer cannot return an item they purchased on OutGrown if the item simply does not fit or they no longer want the item - as long as the seller accurately described the item in the listing.

If the buyer receives an item that is not as described within the listing, is sent the wrong item, or is in some other way not as described, the buyer can report their problem to us within 3 days of receiving the item by emailing support@outgrown.com. When a case is opened, the buyer is asked to upload photos and offer details of the item and case. If the return is verified, we assist the buyer in returning the item to the seller and offer them a full refund.

To avoid a problem with a sale, we advise sellers to be as descriptive and detailed as possible when creating their listings. We encourage buyers to review the listing photos, description, and if you have any questions at all, please ask the seller for additional details PRIOR TO PURCHASING.

Remember, Sellers are trying to sell their items to make more money, so most all sellers are more than happy to provide additional information very quickly. We highly recommend (as a Buyer) to communicate directly with the Seller of the item in question. You can do so by going to the Seller’s profile and clicking “Message”.

Does OutGrown ship items?

No. We provide a local marketplace that does NOT require any shipping. This way, we can pass the savings on to you and allow for more convenient buying/selling within your community.

How do I use my earnings to Buy additional items on OutGrown?

It’s Easy! When you buy an item on OutGrown and you currently have OutGrown credits in your account, we will first automatically apply the credits to the order. If you don’t have enough credits to complete the full payment, OutGrown will then charge your credit card the remaining cost (if applicable).

What should I do if someone asks me to take a transaction offline?

line

Purchasing or selling an item listed on OutGrown using PayPal or any means other than OutGrown checkout is called an "offline transaction" and is prohibited.

Taking transactions offline is harmful and hurts everyone who plays by the rules. Members who repeatedly take transactions offline will have their future buying and selling privileges restricted on OutGrown.
